Youth Advisory Committee

Imlay City YAC members present the 2008 Needs Assessment to school officials. Kim Jorgensen, YAC Advisor and FCCF Trustee (left), and Gary Richards, Imlay City Schools Superintendant and FCCF Trustee accompanied YAC students.

YAC with Locals program helps junior high students make good life choices. Shane Sinda and Wes Yonik talk with an interested group.
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is composed of students from our Four County area ranging from 7th through 12th graders.
A major role of the YAC is to recommend grants from a permanent Youth Fund after assessing local youth needs, be involved in fund development and support systems for involving youth in philanthropy.
A Needs Assessment Survey was completed May 9, 2002, to identify the major challenges of youth in the service area. The major needs were identified as: Alcohol/Drug Abuse, Lack of Youth Recreational Facilities, and Peer Pressure. The grants awarded by the YAC take the Needs Assessment results into account when applications are reviewed and grants awarded.
