A Couple's Commitment to Capac Youth

Marian and Robert Fischer

Four County Community Foundation is blessed to have had thousands of donors over its 22 year history. Marion and Robert Fischer supported Capac youth in many ways over their 67 years of marriage. In honor of Marion's 40 years of service as a teacher and librarian, the Capac Elementary School named their library the Marion Fischer Library.

The couple supported a college scholarship for Capac graduates and Marion took great pleasure in presenting the awards at the scholarship ceremonies. When the couple decided they wanted to make their scholarship available every year, they created their endowed scholarship fund - The Marion Fischer Scholarship. After Marion passed away, her husband Robert continued her tradition of presenting the awards. He also decided to become a member of the Foundation's Legacy Society.

These donors ensure a legacy to the Foundation through making a bequest in their wills or trusts. This special group of people is an encouragement to others to remember Four County Community Foundation in their charitable plans. When Robert passed away, the fund's name was changed to the Marion and Robert Fischer Scholarship Fund and their bequest added to their long time tradition of charitable giving. The Fischers contributed to their charitable wishes both during their lifetime and as a lasting legacy through a bequest to the Foundation. The Fischers are shining examples of the Foundation's motto, for good-for ever..
