2011 Year in Brief

In 2011 the Four County Community Foundation was very busy in helping stabilize our service area in these tough economic times.

All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.

~ Calvin Coolidge

Education Initiative

One of the most valued pro-active actions the Four County Community Foundation enacted in 2011 was the Education Initiative. The Education Initiative allowed all school building in our service area the ability to apply for a $1000 grant for improvement. Some of the most creative grant applications were:

  • Distractive Driving Prevention
  • Cedar Point Physics Day
  • Summer Robotics Camp
  • A Health Occupation Program

No Child Left in Doors

Promoting active and healthy life styles is imperative in this day and age. Working with Seven Ponds Nature Center and the Huron Clinton Metro Parks our intentions are to get school age children involved with nature and hand on science projects. All schools in the Four County Community Foundations service area are eligible for assistance to get students to the parks and or center for education events.
