Four County Community Foundation’s scholarship program is expanding in 2026 with the creation of the Corrion Adult Completion Scholarship.
The new offering aims to empower adults 23 years and older who started taking college classes and desire to finish their first bachelor's degree.
“This scholarship recognizes the courage of learners returning to school after life interruptions, financial barriers, or delayed opportunity,” said 4CCF’s Executive Director Kathy Dickens.
“We look forward to giving adult students a second chance to finish what they started.”
Adults who’ve lived in the Four County Community Foundation service area for at least three years, completed at least one semester of college classes and have demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply. Applicants must show that personal or household income limits their access to education.
Awards up to $5,000 can be used for tuition and course fees at a college or university, including those offering online courses. Other costs that pose hurdles to the student will be considered by the Foundation.
The Corrion Adult Completion Scholarship is made possible by the generosity of 4CCF donors Robert and Rhea Corrion. The Macomb County couple feels strongly in supporting education efforts and have been annual supporters of the Foundation’s Return to Earn Internship program since its inception in 2022.
The State of Michigan has expanded higher education opportunities for post-secondary students through the Community College Guarantee and Michigan Reconnect Scholarship, 4CCF recognizes that not all adult students will qualify for these tuition assistance programs or they may be pursuing a degree that can’t be obtained at a local community college. A recent report from the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics, 2026 Michigan’s Hot 50 Job Outlook, showed that 33 of the state’s most in-demand and high-wage jobs require at least a bachelor's degree.
The Corrion Adult Completion Scholarship application requires applicants to complete the FAFSA and provide their most recent transcript.
The application can be accessed from the Foundation’s website at https://www.4ccf.org/scholarships/apply/ and will accept requests year-round or until all funds are awarded.
