Four County Community Foundation (4CCF) grant dollars, awarded in the third quarter of 2025, will support several initiatives including those that seek to inform and support the public on important topics.
Among the recipients of the $85,000 worth of funds approved by the Foundation’s trustees in July was the Michigan Anti-Trafficking Project (MAP). This Macomb County-based nonprofit will use more than $8,000 in grant dollars to create a walk through, immersive display focused on labor trafficking. The mobile display will have the ability to be displayed at various public locations.
“This is a whole body experience where participants will touch the cotton, smell the coffee beans, listen to survivor stories and be given actionable steps to respond to what they have learned,” MAP Program Officer Heather McGannon said.
Also receiving funding for the first time was Guest House, Inc. of Lake Orion. Grant dollars, combined with other sources of funding, will help the agency expand access to their “From Silence to Support” education program. This free, faith-informed program offers addiction and mental health education resources.
Our local school districts also benefitted from grant dollars in the most recent quarter. Dryden High School will direct 4CCF funds toward the creation of a STEAM lab; Imlay City Schools was awarded a grant to purchase an English language learner program; Almont Community Schools was granted funds for a K-12 staff retreat at a local camp and Capac Community Schools received funding for their FIRST Lego League robotics program.
The need for food and utility assistance remains strong. Quarter three funding went to the Free Meals program at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ; Love INC of North Oakland County for their utility shutoff prevention program, Power of Hope and the R&E Family Foundation for their Elementary Eats food program.
